Serving The Interests Of Equestrians In The Twin Oaks Valley of San Marcos
|
The park has undergone a 19 acre
expansion which includes acreage
for up to 10 soccer fields.
The Los Vallecitos Riders Club and
Vallecitos Spurs Gymkhana Club
has maintained the equestrian
facilities at the park and
continuously raises funds for this
as well as donations to the City of San Marcos for park
improvements.
Realizing that the Walnut Grove Equestrian Park has become
an important part of our local heritage, the Twin Oaks Valley
Equestrian Association made a very proactive move this year
to also raise funds to help improve the parks condition. In
October for the past two years (2007 & 2008), The Twin Oaks
Valley Equestrian association held the first and second annual
Poker Ride & Stride and raised over $25,500 toward the
cause. TOVEA plans to continue this new event again this
year on October 11th, due to the great success and fun for all
equestrians in our community.
The park “refurbishment" has two phases; Phase 1 includes
construction of the soccer fields as well as restrooms and a
snack shack and an extension of the multi-use trail system
around the park which includes equestrian access. This has
been completed. Phase 2 will include refurbishment of the
equestrian the park which the City has said should happen
sometime in the next three to five years.
In the meantime, Los Vallecitos Riders Club and Vallecitos
Spurs Gymkhana Club are holding more events at the park
than ever before proving the popularity and need for this
facility.

events, please visit their websites listed below.
